Morphologic lens

The morphologic lens is a component of the Diagnostic Lenses Framework . This lens guides diagnostic formulation in patients presenting with psychiatric symptoms in whom physical examination identifies morphologic features suggestive of a neurodevelopmental disorder. Because craniofacial development is embryologically linked to brain development, patterns of physical features can provide important clues to underlying neurodevelopmental conditions.

The morphologic terminology used within this section is aligned with the standardized Elements of Morphology system.
